How do we do encoding and scheduling?
Wave Streaming is our technology partner for encoding and scheduling our programming. They have a story very similar to the way Global Radio 1 was founded and have created a pioneeriing piece of scheduling software called Cloud DJ. All our original programming from wherever it comes in the world is loaded on state of the art server technology, encoded ( so that the files are small enough to run on broadband), we create schedules for when programmes will run, what adverts will run, when jingles run and then this is all relayed through to the distribution server. The sound quality on the Live feed is not great?
Sometimes this is because of problems at the data centre. Sometimes this is down to what we call 'bandwidth'. Lots of listeners who use the same Internet Service Provider as you can cause your service to be slow. Write to our technical support team in the first instance who can investigate any slow speed issues for you. Email: info@globalradio1,comBack to top

What do you need to hear us?
There are so many ways to hear the station but the most common is the Global Radio 1Web Site. This is not just our information pages it is what is known as a 'portal'. It is written in a HTML for the technically minded but incorporates "Flash' and "Iframe' technology so that without leaving the site you can view other websites of relevance. We have negotiated deals with companies that means you can buy airline tickets, theatre tickets, parking tickets and even book hotels. You can buy goods from certain manufacturers, all without leaving the site. The Web site is constantly changing so we created it in what is called a content management system, so that we only change the elements that need changing once the design is fixed. The web site is hosted in Houston, Texas.Back to top
